Class 2 National Insurance Contributions

For self-employed people payment of Class 2 NIC will change from April 2011. There will be a break in the monthly direct debit payments of Class 2 NIC following the collection in April 2011. Direct debit payments will then re-start again in August 2011. We would recommend that you check your bank statements to ensure that monthly direct debits stop between May and July 2011 and that more importantly they re-commence in August 2011.

Approved Mileage Rates

From 6 April 2011 the approved mileage rates increased to 45 pence per mile for the first 10,000 business miles travelled in a tax year. For business miles in excess of 10,000 the rate remains at 25 pence per mile.
